Description
What better place to learn about conservation than the zoo? Jordan visits the Oakland Zoo to learn about their conservation efforts around the world. She meets up with Teen Wild Guides and gets up close and personal with squirrel monkeys. What happens when an avid mountain biker wants to help the environment and do something for inner city kids? She creates a non-profit called Trips For Kids and succeeds beyond her dreams. In the first part of this story, Josh learns how used bikes make it all possible. In the second part, Founder Marilyn Price talks about Trips For Kids, The Re-Cyclery Thrift Shop, and the Earn-A-Bike program. Josh tags along with Trips For Kids on a ride through a National Park - an experience he won't soon forget. Girl Scouts are proud to be "Green by Nature", and Janena finds one group of girls who are doing their part by giving their time to help restore a natural habitat for Coho salmon. Endangered along the California Coast, the Coho salmon spawn in the Lagunitas Creek. It's one of the few creeks remaining that still support the fish and this group of girls is working with the Salmon Protection and Watershed Network to keep it that way.
