Description
It's raining as a man walks into a bar in the French Quarter and tells the story of a lady who wears a purple hat. The lady has taken a seat at the bar every evening for 30 years, always with an enthralled young man, never aging, and never dying, despite the fact that the man has seen her murdered by her companion - twice. Is the lady a ghost? What is the purpose of the syringe and vial concealed in her hat? And why does the young man now listening to the narrator suddenly bolt? This acclaimed film adaptation of Eudora Welty's "The Purple Hat" leaves viewers questioning the boundaries between reality and fantasy, allegory, and dreams.
