Description
A stock or equity market is a network of economic transactions for the trading of company stock at an agreed price. The rule "buy low, sell high" can be profitable, but it is risky as well. This classic documentary asks whether or not it is possible to make a fortune from speculation on the stock market. While the film does not promise instant riches, it does offer viewers a spontaneous and lively view of what was then the Montreal Stock Exchange (now the Montreal Exchange). Pertinent commentary is provided throughout by economist John Galbraith; speculator Nicolas Darvas, who did make a fortune; and Ned Bragagnolo of Timmins, who claims it's like going to the races.
